Box PlotΒΆ

A Box Plot is a graphical representation based on the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile and maximum value of a quantitative data set.

The dimensions are:

Dimension (mandatory field are bold)

Type

Description

X

target

It forces to construct several boxes shifted on the x-axis according to attribute values.

Y

output

It states the attribute used to evaluate minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile and maximum value and representing the box. It is also used to define the y-axis scale.

Color

target

It controls the color of the various created boxes.

Weight

weight

The attribute dropped here is used functionally to weight the statistical evaluation of minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile and maximum value for the Y attributes.

Note

Box plot owns a different Dimension, the Weight, which is not related to any graphical dimension of the plot itself, but it is rather a functional dimension, meaning its use modify the way boxes are evaluated but not their graphical form.
