A Box Plot is a graphical representation based on the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile and maximum value of a quantitative data set.
The dimensions are:
Dimension (mandatory field are bold) |
Type |
Description |
---|---|---|
X |
target |
It forces to construct several boxes shifted on the x-axis according to attribute values. |
Y |
output |
It states the attribute used to evaluate minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile and maximum value and representing the box. It is also used to define the y-axis scale. |
Color |
target |
It controls the color of the various created boxes. |
Weight |
weight |
The attribute dropped here is used functionally to weight the statistical evaluation of minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile and maximum value for the Y attributes. |
Note
Box plot owns a different Dimension, the Weight, which is not related to any graphical dimension of the plot itself, but it is rather a functional dimension, meaning its use modify the way boxes are evaluated but not their graphical form.
